Turkey Youth Union Association (TGBDER), founded in Ankara in 1997, is a non-governmental organisation that aims to ensure that all young people, without any kind of discrimination, participate actively in social participation, organisation, decision-making and management processes in an understanding of equality and democracy.

In line with these goals, since 2007, it has been working to meaningfully involve young people with disabilities in civil society and youth work, to develop inclusive non-formal education opportunities and methods for young people with and without disabilities at national and international level, to open up space for them to produce together, to carry out advocacy work in the field of disability rights and to bring a disability rights perspective to the youth sector.

One of the main objectives of the association is to develop awareness of volunteering and self-advocacy in young people with disabilities based on a rights-based approach and to contribute to the creation and inclusion of national and international youth policies.

TGBDER cooperates with relevant public, private and non-governmental organisations on the basis of activities and projects. It is not involved in any political formation or fraction, and has not been since its establishment.
