Way2Go Project Results and Platform Dissemination Event (local conference) organised by TGBDER was successfully held in Ankara on 19 January 2025 with the contributions of Deaf Youth Federation. The event aimed to increase accessibility and inclusion by bringing together young people with disabilities who want to learn about opportunities in Erasmus+ and ESC programmes. The participants included representatives from different civil society organisations and deaf and hearing guests. Throughout the event, communication was provided with a professional Sign Language Interpreter.
The event started with some familiarisation and mingling games with some of the methodologies used in education within the Way2Go project. The participants were informed about the inclusion dimensions of the Erasmus+ and ESC programmes, followed by videos from mixed ability group mobility projects under these programmes.
One of the most important parts of the event was the presentation of the Way2Go project and platform. The ambassadors introduced how the platform works and gave suggestions for further inclusion of young people with disabilities in Erasmus+ and ESC programmes. With the feedback from the participants, the content of the platform will be further developed.
Then, successful projects involving young people with disabilities in both Erasmus+ and ESC programmes were shared. Good practices such as Turkey's first ESC30 project, the ESC volunteering experience of a disabled young person in Italy and a youth exchange project organised by a deaf youth organisation were presented as examples.
The event ended with the evaluations of the participants and the closing of the event. While TGBDER continues to ensure access to opportunities for young people with disabilities through such events, it is step by step approaching its goal of disseminating inclusive and accessible projects.
